On December 15-17, 2010 on the basis of Charity Foundation “Salus” a training “Viral hepatitides prevention in the framework of HIV prevention projects” was carried out. Medical and social workers, as well as members of NGOs have participated in the training. Goal of the training was to provide participants with basic knowledge about viral hepatitides, particularly their ways of transmission, prevention methods and treatment, as well as skills which participants could apply in their work with vulnerable groups in projects dealing with HIV prevention.

Training was organized in the framework of the project “Step Towards”, which is being performed by CF “Salus” and supported by ICF “International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine”. The goal of the project is to provide technical assistance to representatives of partner organizations.

 

On December 3, 2010 CF “Salus” has carried out an intersectoral meeting “Coordination of activities of NGO’s working with vulnerable groups. Methods of informing the clients about the area of HIV-services”. The meeting was dedicated to the World AIDS Day.

The program included:

report of the Director of Lviv Regional Prevention Center for AIDS Dr Maryana Sluzhynska “Epidemiological situation in Ukraine and Lviv region”;

presentation of the plans of the Regional Information and Resource Center for 2011 year, methods of clients’ informing about area of HIV-services activities (speaker Ms Oksana Krystyniak);

activities of the CF “Salus” mobile ambulatory, schedules of settings out (speaker head of subdivision Ms Oksana Hrushynska);

coordination of activities of HIV-service organizations in Lviv and Volyn regions for provision of comprehensive HIV-services to vulnerable groups.

Representatives of HIV-service organizations and social workers of city Lviv took part in the meeting.
