ROUND TABLE “CONTEMPORARY STATUS AND ACTUAL TASKS IN THE FIELD OF GENTER VIOLENCE PREVENTION”
April 27, 2007

On April 27 the round table “CONTEMPORARY STATUS AND ACTUAL TASKS IN THE FIELD OF GENTER VIOLENCE PREVENTION” took place in Lviv. It was focused on representatives of institutions working in the field of right defense, gender problems and representatives of executive institutions who are responsible for implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On violence prevention in the family”. Olena Bondarenko, the depute took part in the round table. SALUS Foundation was represented by Oleksandra Sluzhynska, the Foundation president.

On April 26 the workshop “COMMUNITY ACCESS TO LEGISLATIVE PROCESS” was held in Lviv. It was addressed to representatives of the NGOs, deputies, education institutions with involvement of consultants from the Ukrainian Parliament Supporting Programme as well as workers of the Supreme Council of Ukraine. The aim of the program is to inform the community about organizational and legal aspects of the legislative process and possibilities of participation of community in these processes. Olena Kovalchuk, SALUS Foundation staff member has participated in the workshop.

WORKSHOP “MANAGEMENT OF THE NGOs AND MOVEMENT OF VOLUNTEERS: ITALIAN EXPERIENCE”
April 16-20, 2007

On April 26-30 the workshop dedicated to NGO management took place in Odessa. Italian colleagues have shared with their experience in dealing with these problems. The workshop has been developed by the Charitable Foundation “Future without AIDS” and Charitable Foundation “OASYS” (Ukraine) in co operation with ANLAIDS and NPSI (Italy). The SALUS Foundation staff member Natalia Sarafyn has participated in the workshop.

On April 12 – 13 in Kyiv the training “Management of finance for NGO” took place. It was developed by the International Organization of Migration and was held by OSCE. Representative of the SALUS Charitable Foundation Olga Ovsianetska took part in the training.

WORKING MEETING OF THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE SECOND WAVE GROUP
March 28-30, 2007

On March 28-30, in Kyiv the working meeting of the representatives of the Second Wave took place. The meeting has been held by the International Alliance on HIV/AIDS in Ukraine. 20 participants have been invited. The staff member of the SALUS Foundation Galina Karpuk has presented SALUS on the meeting.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PREVENTION OF TRAFFICKING IN HUMAN BEINGS
February 27, Kyiv

On February 27 in Kyiv, the International Conference on Prevention of Trafficking in Human Beings took place. It was held by British Council Ukraine. SALUS Foundation was represented by Olena Kovalchuk on this meeting.

On February 27 in the premises of the Regional Trade Union’s Office the meeting of trade unions leaders with SALUS Foundation president Oleksandra Sluzhynska and infections of the Regional AIDS Centre Dr Ulana Yarinich took place. The problem of HIV prevention on the working place has been discussed.

WORKSHOP ON MOBILIZATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNITIES AND WORKING OUT OF METHODOLOGIES AND CRITERIUM OF EVALUATION
February 21-22, 2007

On February 21-22 in Kyiv the workshop dedicated to mobilization and development of communities of people vulnerable on HIV and people living with HIV. The workshop was held by the International Alliance on HIIV/AIDS in Ukraine in the frame of the SUNRISE project.

The main goal of the workshop was to summarize models of mobilization and development of communities' activities vulnerable to HIV/ SALUS Foundation staff member – Iryna Kravtsiv has participated in the workshop.

INSTTUTIONAL STRENGTHENING AND SUPPORT OF HIV PREVENTION ACTIVITIES
February 14-16, Amsterdam

On February 14-16 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands the meeting of representatives of NGOs from 7 countries took place. It has been developed by UNFPA - United Nation Population Fund and TAMPEP - European Network for HIV/STI Prevention and Health Promotion among Migrant Sex Workers. SALUS Foundation and UHRA have represented Ukraine on this meeting.

In Kamyanets-Podilskiy the training on before- and after test counseling took place. Representatives of SALUS Foundation Iryna Kravtsiv and Marta Vasylyev took part in the training. The problems of before and after test counseling on HIV/AIDS have been discussed.

On January 26, 2007 in Lviv. In the SALUS Foundation Crisis Centre the round table “Let us talk frankly” took place. The “Let’s talk frankly” project provided development and introduction of interactive education methodology on violence prevention among school youth in Lviv region. The project has been developed by SALUS Foundation in partnership with Lviv city Education Department and Lviv Information Methodological Centre of Education with the financial support of Canadian Found, Canadian Agency of International Development of Canadian Embassy in Ukraine. Representatives of NGOs, social services, educators, medical workers and government officers have participated in the round table.

PROTECT YOUR LOVE - EXHIBITION OF ARTPIECES DEDICATED TO THE WORLD AIDS DAY

In the Museum of Ideas in Lviv the exhibition of designs of billboards, city-lights, posters and prints was held on November 29 - December 4. This event has been performed in the frame of the SALUS Foundation’s ART AGAINST AIDS program. It was supported by the UNDP and Secours Catholique Caritas France. Participants from 8 cities of Ukraine have sent their artworks for exhibition.

Problem Solving for Better Health workshop was held in Lviv on November, 17-18. 52 participants from 8 cities of Ukraine have participated in the workshop.

DEVELOPING THE NETWORK OF INSTITUTIONS PROVIDING SERVISES FOR WOMEN IN CRISIS SITUATION
November, 4

In the frame of the project “AIDS prevention and supporting the target groups in the Lviv region“, supported by Secours Catholique Caritas France meeting of representatives of state and nongovernmental organisations has been held in SALUS Foundation conference hall. More than 45 participants from different institutions have discussed possibilities of improving services for women –victims of rape, victims of trafficking, sexual exploitation and HIV positive women.

7 September 2006 Ivana Franko drama Theatre in Kyiv hosted Counter-trafficking award ceremony. The event has been conducted within the Counter-Trafficking Programme funded by USAID/Ukraine. Olena Kovalchuk and Natalie Kovalchuk represented SALUS Foundation on the Ceremony.

Photo exhibition - installation "Doors...?!" took place on May,29 - June, 5 in Lviv, Valova 18a street at Museum of Ideas. The exhibition was organized in frame of the common project of UNDP Ukraine and Byelorussian NGO - Union "Positive movement" with financial support of UNAIDS. Charitable SALUS Foundation and Development and Support of Cultural Initiatives Charitable Foundation RUST were local partners of the project in Lviv.

The photo exhibition has demonstrated moments and events from the HIV positive girl life, who has learned how to live with HIV, how to love and how to become the winner.

Photo exhibition - instalatio "Doors...?!" will take place on May,29 - June, 5 in Lviv, Valova 18a street at Museum of Ideas. The exhibition is organized in frame of the common project of UNO Representative in Belorus and Ukraine, Belorussian union "Positive movement" with financial support of UNAIDS and for the promotion of Salus Charitable Foundation and RUST Charitable Foundation.

On April 27-28 the new innovative "Education for Better Health Initiative" ("EBHI") has been launched by SALUS Charitable Foundation in Lviv, Ukraine. The participants of the EBHI workshop were 27 teachers and psychologists, 4 health education methodologists, 2 representatives of NGOs dealing with health problems of children and adolescents, 2 physicians.
The chief of Lviv City Education Department Mr Lazyrko has opened the ceremony with a welcome speech. Since the new subject - "background of health" has been introduced into school curriculum in Ukraine, it has appeared that there was a lack of illustrative materials for this subject. That is the main reason of developing the first in the system of the DHF workshops "Education for Better Health Initiative". Thanks to this workshop the educators were concerned to develop a good interactive ways of delivering the knowledge. They are going to fill the gap between the program needs and absence of materials to work with. The issues discussed during the workshop include five main topics of the school program:

International Conference "Twenty years of Chornobyl Tradegy, view in the future" and Humanitarian Forum "Rebirth, Renewal and Human Development

Salus Charitable Foundatio President, Oleksandra Sluzhynska was invited to participate in the International Conference "Twenty years of Chornobyl tragedy, view in the future" and Humanitarian Forum "Rebirth, Renewal and Human Development, which was held in Kiev. This conference was decicated to 20 years anniversary of Chornobyl tragedy, and was organized by International Foundation Ukraine-3000 and Foundation for Help and Development for Chornobyl Children

Salus Charitable Foundation started new kind of art performances under title "Health and Harmony" at XII International fair - exhibition "Galmed". The first performance took place on April, 7 performed by children theatre "Vitamin" under the title "Health first of all". This performance made propaganda of health style of life. There were aslo presented works of famous Lviv artists Lesya Kvyk and Oles Dzyndra.

The agreement between Salus Charitable Foundation and Japan Ambassy in Ukraine has been signed concerning common actions in realization of the project "Establishment of Volosyanka Village Teenager Educational Center". The main goal of the project is reinovation of building in village Volosyanka of Skolivskiy district, Lviv region for organization of Youth Educational Center. The idea of the project has risen as a result of Salus Charitable Foundation previous activities, directed for increase of information among young people, concerning prevention of harmful habits, addicitions, HIV/AIDS and STI's prevention, and also ecology care.

Regional conference "West Ukrainian information network against human traffiking: first steps and perspectives"

Regional Conference "West Ukrainian information network against human traffiking: first steps and perspectives" was organized by West Ukrainian center "Women perspectives", IOM, USAID. Oleksandra Sluzhynska, Salus Charitable Foundation presindent made report on topic "Medical-diagnostic services, which are provided for women - victims of traffiking".

The Conference "Social program in human traffiking prevention and reintegration of victmis of traffiking"

General Ukrainian Conference "Social program in human traffiking prevention and reintegration of people - victims of traffiking"was held in Kiev. Oleksandra Sluzhynska made report on topic "Provision with medical-diagnostic care of women , victims of traffiking: Salus Charitable Foundation activities in frame of the project, which is performed in cooperation with Caritas Ukraine and French organizations ALC and Secours Catholique.

Training "HIV/AIDS prevention at working places" was held in Kyiv in frame of the project SMART and "Advocacy network work on organization level to spread HIV prevention in the epoch of wide access to treatment". Natalya Kovalchuk, Salus Charitable Foundation volunteer participated in this training.

Round table "Development of network of consulting centers for social care"
February, 8

The round table "Development of network of consulting centers for social care" was held at Informational-Methodological Center of Education of Lviv. There were discussed questions of addiction, violence and harmful habits prevention among youth by workers of center and representatives of Salus Charitable Foundation.

The round table "Let's talk about" has been organized by Salus Charitable Foundation in frame of the project supported by European Commission. There were discussed results of the of the program "Let's talk about" performed by Salus Charitable Foundation in cooperation with Educational Authority of Lviv and Informational Methodological Center of Education. The program have been implemented in cooperation with French NGOs Secours Catolique and ALC, and their representatives Zhenavyev Kolya and Cler took part in work of round table. Around 50 participants of the program participated in the meeting.

The project "Popularization of street art activism in Ukraine", supported by European Cultural Foundation started its activity. Taras Sayevych was appointed coordinator of the project. The project will be performed by Salus Charitable Foundation in the cooperation with German NGO from Berlin - Artitude e.V., headed by President Lutz Henke. The aim of the project is development of street art activity among young people, popularization of new trends of Art and health way of life.

Oleksandra Sluzhynska participated in VII National Conference of HIV positive people and HIV service organizations. The Conference was organized by All Ukrainian Network of PLWH, USAID, UNAAIDS, Alliance

Training "Strengthening of communicative skills of HIV service NGO"
December, 7-9

The training "Strengthening of communicative skills of HIV service NGO and public for effective participation in formation of budget policy" was organized in Kyiv by whole Ukrainian Charitable Foundation "HIV service organizations coalition", in frame of the project of International Council of AIDS service organizations (ICASO) "Advocacy and common activities of public for improvement of AIDS prevention system during period of treatment"

Olena Kovalchuk took active part in work of training concerning traffiking prevention, which was organized by European Union in Kiev.

Final Conference of IBPP, organized by TACIS was hold in Moscow, Russia. Nataliya Petryk participated in the conference and represented Salus Charitable Foundation

The competition took place at Khotkevych Culture Palace in Lviv. Organizers of the competition were not only Salus Charitable Foundation, but also "Methamorphoses" Foundation, "Rust" Foundation and Lviv Regional AIDS Center. The winner of the photo competition was Lyudmyla Mysko-Malyarenko. Also were awarded works of Pavlo Klubnikin from Kyiv. The winner of panthomime competition became art group "Karass" from Kyiv, art director Dariya Tretyak and art-therapy center "Not stepped way", art director Oleksandr Voytyuk .

Art event "Panthomime and Photography ANTI AIDS" will take place at Lviv Art Palace at 16.00 p.m., Kopernic street, 17. We invite everybody to visit this performance. The event starts with fair of NGO, which work in sphere of AIDS at 15.00 p.m. which will make distribution of leaflets and broshures on AIDS prevention

Regional Meeting of Coordinators "Problem Solving for Better Health"

Oleksandra Sluzhynska participated in Regional Meeting of Dreyfus Health Foundation Country Coordinators from 8 European countries. The future activities of DHF have been discussed. 5th anniversary of Kujavsko-Pomorska Initiative in Torun, Poland was also organized after the meeting.

Graffiti festival was held on July, 25-29 at International Children Center ARTEK. This event was orgainized by Olena Franchuk Foundation Anti AIDS. Taras Sayevych represented Salus Charitable Foundation at the festival.

International conference "Matra in Ukraine: 10 years of social transformations
June, 1

The conference was held in Kyiv on June, 1 dedicated to 10 th anniversary of Matra program in Ukraine. The aim of the conference was to gather all its partners to discuss achievments and perspectives of civic society development in the future, their role in the introduction democratic reforms and possibilities for cooperation. Taras Sayevych participated in the conference and represented Salus Charitable Foundation.

The seminar "European approach on health and social promotion in prostitution setting. Employment of the principle of human rights protection in the development and implementation of policies" was held in Lviv in frame of the program "Hey girl, take care of yourself". The seminar was organized in cooperation with Tampep international organization (Netherlands). 52 representatives from Ukrainian NGO's participated in the seminar, they represented Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Kherson, Odesa, Sevastopol, Simferopol.

The seminar was organized by International organization for migration in Yalta. There were observed data and practice of character type according to Mayers Brigs test. Marta Vasylyev participated in this workshop.

7 meeting of International TAMPEP network took place in Budapest (Hungary). 60 NGO's , which work in sphere of traffiking prevention and harm reduction among sex workers from Western and Eastern Europe participated in the meeting. Ukraine was represented by Yuliya Galiy from SALUS Charitable Foundation

French delegation visited SALUS Charitable Foundation on 29 of March - 1 of April 2005. The delegation consisted of B.B.Isaac-Sibille, deputy of Lion City Council, G.Cuzin, E.Gounot - founders of French-Ukrainian Association, M.Vocanson - Manager of Family Planning Service in Lion. There were discussed questions of cooperation between organizations in the future.

Workshop "Problem solving for better health in Ivano- Frankinsk on 26-28 of May 2005

Training in developing informational messages was held in Kyiv on 17-18 of March 2005. It was organized by UCAN. Taras Sayevych participated and represented SALUS Charitable Foundation during work of the training. Participants of the training had possibility to improve their skills in developing different informational messages

"Problem solving for better health" workshop took place in Lviv on March, 3rd -5th. 49 persons participated in the workshop. There were representatives of different organizations and NGO's from Lviv, Ternopil, Lutsk, Uzhgorod, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk

Whole Ukrainian Harm Reducation Association organized meeting of 14 NGO's, which are involved in tHarm Reducation Project among commercial sex women. Questions concerning project realization were discussed "Right for profession", financed by OSI. Olena Kovalchuk participated in this meeting, representing SALUS Charitable Foundation.

Meeting of representatives of women organizations and NGO's was held in Kiev. There were discussed such topics as: new ppower in Ukraine and women movement, "Pekin =10". There were present Larysa Podolyanska (Gender Project of UNO development program), Alla Taran (Family and Youth Affairs Ministry). SALUS Charitable Foundation was represented by Olena Kovalchuk.

Meeting of Charitable Foundation "Whole Ukrainian Coalition of HIV service organizations
February, 4-5

General meeting of Charitable Foundation "Whole Ukrainian Coalition of HIV service organizations" there held in Kyiv. During the meeting participants were offered training in advocacy. There were discussed questions concerning development number of committies for provision of effective activity of the Coalition. Representatives of UNO and USAID visited meeting to establish cooperation. On 4-5 th of February SALUS Chariyable Foundation entered the Coalition. Haliy Yuliya - representative of Coalition in Lviv region represented SALUS Charitable Foundation at general meeting. At present time Coalition consists of 34 HIV service organizations.The activity of Coalition is directed to protection of target groups and their rights and advocacy of NGO's
